The UK Analysis and Innovation (UKRI) has introduced the profitable completion of a £52 million collectively funded undertaking.
This undertaking, delivered by means of the Industrial Decarbonisation Problem (IDC), has made progress in advancing onshore and offshore carbon seize utilisation and storage (CCUS) infrastructure for the East Coast Cluster.
The funding, initially allotted to those tasks in March 2021 from UKRI’s Industrial Technique Problem Fund (ISCF), has performed an important function in fast-tracking the event of significant infrastructure for decarbonisation.
The Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) and Web Zero Teesside (NZT) Energy, the 2 initiatives below this endeavour, symbolize efforts within the journey to decarbonise the UK trade.
NZT Energy, designed to be the world’s first commercial-scale fuel-fired energy station geared up with carbon seize and onshore pipeline infrastructure, has acquired over £28 million in ISCF funding.
It’s a part of a broader ecosystem of decarbonised industries on Teesside that can share the carbon dioxide transportation and storage infrastructure being developed by NEP.
