The Related Press has reported that wind turbine producer Siemens Gamesa has halted plans to provide blades for offshore wind at a beforehand introduced facility on the Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Portsmouth, Va.

The corporate had introduced its intentions to provoke blade manufacturing in Portsmouth again in 2021, when Dominion Vitality inked a agency order for Siemens Gamesa generators to be put in on the utility’s 2.6 GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) mission.
That mission continues to maneuver ahead. In late October, Dominion Vitality introduced that the mission’s first EEW SPC monopile foundations had been acquired on the Portsmouth Marine Terminal.
The AP report notes that the Siemens Gamesa tools destined for CVOW will come from the corporate’s Europe-based services as an alternative of a brand new manufacturing plant in Virginia.
