UK’s £9m enhance powers sky-high decarbonisation

Challenge Speedbird, a collaboration between Nova Pangaea Applied sciences, LanzaJet and British Airways has secured £9 million in funding from the authorities’s Superior Fuels Fund.

The challenge goals to supply 102 million litres of sustainable aviation gasoline (SAF) yearly, decreasing carbon dioxide emissions by 230,000 tonnes per 12 months.

The funding is predicted to place the UK as a worldwide chief in SAF manufacturing.

Challenge Speedbird plans to realize full SAF manufacturing capability by 2028, aligning with the UK’s mandate for not less than 10% of jet gasoline to be derived from sustainable sources by 2030.
