On Thursday, three of the eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts (abbreviated the ASWSWC) constructed by Cochin Shipyard Restricted to serve the Indian Navy had been concurrently launched on the Shipyard in Kochi.
The three ships, which will probably be commissioned into the Indian Navy as INS Malvan, INS Mahe, and INS Mangrol, will probably be prepared for supply by the top of 2024.

Vice Chief of Naval Employees Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, the Commander in Chief for Strategic Forces Command, Vice Adm. Suraj Berry, and the Commandant with the Naval Academy, Vice Adm. Puneet Bahl, had been current for the launch. Madhu S Nair, CSL’s chair and MD, hosted the occasion.
The launch comes after the state-run Cochin Shipyard Restricted and the Defence Ministry signed a Rs 6,311 crore contract in 2019 to construct eight ASWSWCs for the Indian Navy.
In line with officers, these Mahe class vessels will substitute the Navy’s present Abhay class ASW corvettes and are geared for anti-submarine missions in coastal seas, low-intensity transport, mine laying, and subsurface commentary actions.
