Bangladesh began in current days a big crude oil receiving and offloading facility constructed by China that permits the south Asian oil importer to considerably scale back the price of transport in crude oil.
The one-point mooring facility at Chattogram port final Sunday offloaded 82,000 tons (about 600,000 barrels) of crude oil from a 100,000-ton tanker, stated an official with state-run Bangladesh Petroleum Corp (BPC).
The venture is majority-funded by the Chinese language authorities and construct by a unit of Chinese language state oil main CNPC, stated the BPC official who declined to be named as he isn’t approved to talk to the media.
Bangladesh, which imports most of its oil wants, doesn’t have a deepwater port and has relied on small vessels to ship crude oil from giant tankers parked exterior ports.
