The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has awarded a mixed 3,742 MW of offshore wind capability to Invenergy and energyRE’s Main Gentle Wind Mission and Attentive Vitality’s Attentive Vitality Two Mission.
In a unanimous vote, the board awarded 2,400 MW to Main Gentle Wind and 1,342 MW to Attentive Vitality Two. The tasks are anticipated to carry a mixed $6.8 billion in financial advantages to the state.
“At this time’s Third Solicitation awards are plain proof that the way forward for offshore wind in New Jersey is as robust as ever,” says New Jersey governor Phil Murphy. “From our proficient workforce to our rising standing as a regional provide chain hub, our state stays an unparalleled location for the highest builders on the planet to plant their flags. Each tasks have dedicated to supporting the institution of a tower producer on the New Jersey Wind Port along with sourcing monopiles from, and investing in, the growth of the EEW monopile facility on the Port of Paulsboro.
Moreover, the awarded tasks have dedicated greater than $60 million in the direction of the assist of environmental and fisheries analysis, monitoring and conservation efforts.
The services are scheduled to be operational in 2031.
