Onshore Substation Location for F.E.W. Baltic II Offshore Farm Introduced






The Voivode of Pomerania has selected the location of the onshore connection for RWE’s F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm, within the municipality of Redzikowo (previously the municipality of Słupsk).

The choice covers the substation connection and technical infrastructure development, in addition to cable placement, to be operated by the Polish nationwide grid operator, PSE. 

“The development of the onshore substation is without doubt one of the key parts of the F.E.W. Baltic II connection infrastructure,” says RWE’s Tomasz Kreft. “It permits electrical energy from the offshore substation to be transferred to land and fed into the nationwide energy system. F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind farm will be capable to produce sufficient inexperienced electrical energy to produce the equal of roughly 350,000 Polish households.”

The 350 MW wind farm within the Polish Baltic Sea covers an space of roughly 41 sq. km, is positioned roughly 50 km from the coast, north of Ustka. RWE is to implement all the venture. 

In 2021, the Polish Power Regulatory Workplace granted RWE a Contract for Distinction for the location, topic to approval by the European Fee.
