Dajin Heavy Trade Sends Off First Monopiles for 496 MW French Offshore Wind Challenge


China-based Dajin Heavy Trade has dispatched the primary eleven monopiles for the 496 MW Iles D’Yeu et Noirmoutier offshore wind farm in France.

The monopiles, every weighing 700 tonnes, have been loaded onto Boskalis’ heavy-load provider Black Marlin, which is at the moment positioned in China’s Yellow Sea, in response to AIS knowledge.

The models had been manufactured by Dajin Heavy Trade beneath a contract signed with the challenge’s developer, Éoliennes en Mer des Îles d’Yeu et de Noirmoutier (EMYN), a consortium together with Ocean Winds (an ENGIE and EDPR three way partnership), Sumitomo Company, La Banque des Territoires and Vendée Energie.

Situated off the coast of Vendée, 11.6 kilometres from the island of Yeu and 16.5 kilometres from Noirmoutier, the offshore wind farm will function 62 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind generators, which the OEM will produce in its Le Havre facility.

Eiffage will ship all 62 transition items, with Sif supplying the first metal and Smulders manufacturing the secondary metal.

DEME has been contracted for the transport and set up of the foundations, wind generators, and the substation. The offshore substation is scheduled to be put in within the first half of 2024.

The 496 MW Îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned in 2025. As soon as in full operation, the wind farm will produce sufficient electrical energy to energy as much as 800,000 households.
