Fugro Chosen for RVO’s Doordewind Venture Geophysical Survey

Fugro has been awarded the geophysical survey contract for the event of the Doordewind offshore wind farm zone, situated roughly 77 km off the Netherlands’ north coast.

The corporate says that a part of the rationale for its choice was its use of 2D ultra-ultra-high decision (UUHR) surveys. The Doordewind challenge, led by the Netherlands Enterprise Company (RVO), is a part of the Dutch Authorities’s Offshore Wind Vitality Roadmap 2030.

Fieldwork is scheduled to start out in April and might be performed with the corporate geophysical vessel, Fugro Pioneer. Onboard are digital streamers and processing know-how that allow 2D UUHR surveys.

“Certainly one of Fugro’s key goals is to assist governments worldwide with the power transition,” says Fugro’s Sven Plasman. “So, we’re extraordinarily proud to be a part of this prestigious offshore wind challenge and supporting the Dutch authorities in realizing its ambitions. The event of our geophysical vessels and innovation geared toward offering higher high quality information is proving its worth. We’re completely satisfied to use it on this vital challenge and sit up for working with RVO.”

The overall wind farm space is roughly 580 sq. km and is deliberate to comprise a complete capability of 4 GW, divided evenly over two websites.
