BayWa r.e. and Ampt have accomplished Europe’s first integration of wind, photo voltaic and battery storage methods on the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Expertise (ICT) campus in Pfinztal, Germany.
The challenge entails putting in rooftop arrays, a ground-mounted system and utilising an current wind turbine to hook up with the energy grid.
The Fraunhofer ICT campus stands to profit considerably from this initiative, contributing to its objective of attaining climate-neutral operations.
The principle campus of the Fraunhofer Institute ICT has over 100 laboratories, in addition to a number of pilot vegetation and three check centres on a 21-hectare web site.
Levent Gun, Chief Government Officer at Ampt, stated: “Combining each rooftop and ground-mounted photo voltaic in seven totally different orientations and two module sizes in a single widespread microgrid with wind energy and batteries is a major problem.
“This challenge is a testomony to the capabilities of our industry-leading energy conversion know-how to simplify management of the various methods unfold throughout a web site.”
