AES Indiana has closed on the acquisition of the 106 MW Hoosier Wind venture, situated in Benton County, after the Indiana Utility Regulatory Fee (IURC) authorized the deal from EDF Renewables North America, giving AES Indiana possession of the asset.
Positioned on 6,500 acres of agricultural land in Fowler, Ind., Hoosier Wind’s 53 generators started supplying energy in 2009 underneath a 20-year PPA with EDF.
“This strategic acquisition advances our investments in renewables and helps our dedication to offer clients with dependable, reasonably priced and sustainable power options,” says Brandi Davis-Helpful, AES Indiana president. “Hoosier Wind is a vital contributor towards our portfolio evolution and our promise to ship 100% clear power to our clients by 2050.”
With the order from the IURC, AES assumed operational tasks as of February.
