FirstEnergy subsidiaries Mon Energy and Potomac Edison have begun development on their second utility-scale photo voltaic website in West Virginia, the Rivesville challenge, positioned in Marion County.
The property, owned by the businesses, is a brownfield website that has gone unused for the reason that Rivesville Energy Station was deactivated in 2012.
“We’re proud to be remodeling a former coal ash disposal website right into a supply of fresh renewable power for our prospects,” says FirstEnergy’s Jim Myers. “We imagine the power generated by our West Virginia photo voltaic websites will proceed to encourage financial growth within the state as a result of a rising variety of corporations require a portion of the electrical energy they buy to be generated by renewable sources.”
