BOEM to Maintain Overview of Proposed Winery Northeast Offshore Mission






The Bureau of Ocean Power Administration (BOEM) will provoke an environmental evaluation of Winery Northeast’s proposed 2,600 MW wind mission, situated 29 miles offshore Nantucket, Mass.at its closest level.  

On March 25, the bureau will publish a Discover of Intent (NOI) to arrange an EIS for the COP submitted by Winery Northeast on March 25. 

“The Biden-Harris administration is steadfast in our dedication to collaborating with Tribal nations, authorities businesses, environmental teams, native communities and ocean stakeholders,” says Elizabeth Klein, BOEM Director. “Via collective effort, we are able to set up a sturdy, sustainable offshore wind sector that ensures communities nationwide reap the rewards of domestically sourced clear, dependable renewable power.”

The roughly 132,370 acre lease space would have as much as 160 wind turbine turbines, three electrical service platforms and one booster station in an adjoining lease space.

The publication of the NOI within the Federal Register will open a 45-day public remark interval, ending on Might 9.
