Kupono Photo voltaic at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Enters Industrial Operations






Ameresco has introduced that the photo voltaic and battery storage facility, Kūpono Photo voltaic, situated at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam West Loch Annex, is now operational and supporting Hawaiian Electrical’s grid on O‘ahu.

The venture accommodates a 42 MW photo voltaic array and four-hour 42 MW BESS, and is about on 131 acres of Navy land below a long-term lease. 

“Ameresco is delighted to announce the completion of this vital venture and the graduation of operations for this renewable power useful resource,” says Nicole Bulgarino, government vice chairman of Ameresco. 

“In collaboration with the Navy, Hawaiian Electrical and the entire crucial neighborhood stakeholders, we have now developed power infrastructure that advantages the residents of O‘ahu and the pure atmosphere. We’re pleased with the ability’s inauguration and the strides we’re making collectively in sustainable power improvement. Our collective efforts are devoted to offering clear, reliable power to Hawai‘i.”

Kūpono Photo voltaic was a collaborative effort, with stakeholders together with the U.S. Navy and Hawaiian Electrical.
