Oxford PV says it has achieved a document in photo voltaic effectivity with a 60-cell residential-size module, produced with the corporate’s perovskite-on-silicon tandem photo voltaic cells.
The corporate added that it had reached a 26.9% effectivity, in comparison with present greatest silicon modules of roughly 25% with an identical designated module space. The double-glass module has a 1.6 m2 designated space, weighs 25 kg and is geared toward residential functions.
“Oxford PV’s record-setting module represents a big development for solar energy era,” says David Ward, CEO of Oxford PV.
“Householders together with industrial and utility clients will all profit from upwards of 20% extra energy with the identical footprint. Not solely does this save set up prices, it additionally quickens the decarbonization journey and may contribute to the worldwide power transition in a significant manner.”
Oxford PV produces the tandem photo voltaic cells at its manufacturing facility in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany.
