Webinar – Geothermal-solar hybrid systems in Australia, 27 June 2024
Webinar – “Geothermal-solar hybrid methods for Australian rural industries” by the Australian Geothermal Affiliation

Registration is open for a webinar hosted by the AGA on a hybrid geothermal-solar hybrid system designed for a business facility in Yanderra, New South Wales.

Registration is presently open for a webinar to be hosted by the Australian Geothermal Affiliation on “Geothermal-solar hybrid methods for Australian rural industries.” Attendance is free for all.

The small print of the occasion are as follows:

  • Date: 27 June 2024, 12:00 to 1:00 PM AWST
  • Speaker: Dr. Xiaoying (Annie) Gu, Analysis Fellow at The College of Melbourne
  • Registration: Register through this hyperlink

This presentation will introduce a full-scale photo voltaic PV and ground-source warmth pump system, with fuel backup, designed for heating and cooling at a business broiler facility in Yanderra, New South Wales. The hybrid system will see the set up of a 100-200 kW thermal floor supply warmth pump system to interchange LPG as a gasoline for heating and cooling a single shed for housing chickens.

The numerous financial and environmental advantages of the hybrid system might be demonstrated, showcasing the way it enhances operational effectivity, reduces greenhouse fuel emissions, and gives substantial value financial savings.

Our presenter is Dr. Xiaoying (Annie) Gu, Annie is a analysis fellow at The College of Melbourne. Her joint analysis group is likely one of the world leaders in shallow geothermal applied sciences.

In recent times, Dr. Gu has targeted considerably on shallow geothermal power, notably horizontal methods together with geothermal pavements, to handle society’s biggest problem of offering clear and renewable power to fulfill the exponential rise in power demand. She has printed high-quality journal papers and offered her work at a number of prestigious worldwide conferences.

Dr. Gu has been concerned in analysing full-scale geothermal system knowledge, together with a geothermal-solar system in rural industries. Her work has contributed to the broader utility and trade recognition of shallow geothermal methods.
