The Enterprise Community for Offshore Wind, a decade-old affiliation for offshore wind power, has modified its title and identification to Oceantic Community.
“Our work to create the availability chain, ports, vessels, insurance policies, funding mechanisms and extra to help offshore wind within the U.S. is an element of a bigger mosaic of ocean-based renewable power applied sciences,” the group says. “Analysis to derive clear power from the ocean’s tides and waves is ongoing, as are research on how our nation can capitalize on different sources and applied sciences, equivalent to inexperienced hydrogen and ocean-based floating photo voltaic farms.”
Being “items of a broader interconnected effort to attract energy from the ocean,” the title “Oceantic Community” higher captures the group’s future work.
“Our new title honors the earth’s oceans,” the community says. “It celebrates that dynamic pure drive that may be a supply of monumental clear, renewable energy and connects all that we do. With this rebrand, we’ll shift our focus to making sure we understand the total renewable power potential of our oceans.”
