Protestors Block Port of Tacoma to Protest Alleged Navy Help Cargo to Israel


A bunch of pro-Palestinian activists on Monday blocked the doorway to the Port of Tacoma to protest the alleged transportation of U.S. army assist to Israel on a ship owned by the U.S. Maritime Administration.

The protest comes after a smaller group of activists on Friday managed to entry a pier close to Oakland, California, the place the roll-on/roll-off ship Cape Orlando was moored. The protestors tampered with mooring traces and climbed on the ship’s ladder, delaying its departure by a number of hours.

A whole lot of demonstrators arrived on the Port of Tacoma early Monday morning, the place the Cape Orlando is now docked, to proceed to the protest.

The MV Cape Orlando, stationed in Alameda, California, is a roll-on/roll-off ship belonging to the Maritime Administration’s Prepared Reserve Power (RRF). The RRF, a subset of vessels inside the Nationwide Protection Reserve Fleet (NDRF), helps the fast deployment of U.S. army forces worldwide. It primarily facilitates the transportation of Military and Marine Corps unit gear, fight help gear, and preliminary resupply throughout surge intervals.

The U.S. Division of Protection says it doesn’t present any particulars concerning the cargo launched into RRF vessels.
