ACBL declares new senior VP of logistics and community operations

American Business Barge Line (ACBL), Jeffersonville, Ind., introduced the appointment of Steve Schappell as senior vice chairman of logistics and community operations.

Schappell has served on this position on an interim foundation since September, throughout which he has demonstrated collaborative and transformational management. ACBL says that it chosen Schappell over a number of extremely certified exterior candidates because of his wealth of expertise, management capabilities and dedication to the corporate’s imaginative and prescient, mission, and core values.

Reporting on to ACBL CEO Mike Ellis, Schappell is answerable for ACBL’s Fleets, Terminals, and Interchange enterprise unit. He may also lead a digital transformation initiative to boost ACBL’s logistics competencies, together with boat and barge optimization, barge fleet technique, mainline community efficiency, dispatch operations, and extra.
