Atmosphere Secretary Therese Coffey has introduced her resignation, citing the appropriate time to step again from authorities amid Prime Minister Rishi Sunak‘s ministerial reshuffle.
Coffey has held varied ministerial positions, together with well being minister and work and pensions minister, and served as Deputy Prime Minister beneath Rishi Sunak’s predecessor Liz Truss.
In her letter, Ms Coffey stated: “It has been a privilege to serve in your Cupboard. Having been a minister since July 2014 and having served all 5 Conservative Prime Ministers, I think about it’s now the appropriate time to step again from authorities.”
Steve Barclay has been appointed Secretary of State for Atmosphere, Meals and Rural Affairs.
