Edda Wind has taken supply of service operation vessel (SOV) C416 from Astilleros Balenciaga, with the vessel to be contracted with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Vitality on the Saint-Brieuc wind farm in France till 2028.
The vessel has been ready for zero-emission operations, with hydrogen because the vitality provider within the Liquid Natural Hydrogen Provider idea adopted by Edda Wind.
“C416 represents the way forward for offshore wind service vessels, being the second SOV worldwide ready for a hydrogen-based vitality system able to as much as 4 weeks of endurance,” says Kenneth Walland, CEO of Edda Wind. “This milestone positions the vessel to assist the development and commissioning of wind farms with out producing carbon emissions, aligning with our dedication to sustainability.”
The corporate says the SOV is of Salt 0358 design and may accommodate as much as 60 individuals in separate cabins.
