The IDAE has printed the listing of 14 proposals for deep geothermal initiatives which have been accepted as eligible for the EUR 102 million monetary support.

The Institute for Vitality Diversification and Saving (IDAE) has printed an inventory of the accepted proposals for deep geothermal initiatives that will certified to obtain subsidy support. That is the results of the funding support of 120 EUR million introduced by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Problem (MITECO) of the Authorities of Spain again in June 2023.

Of the 14 accepted proposals, 11 are from the Canary Islands damaged down as follows:

  • 6 in La Palma (EUR 47.6 million)
  • 4 in Tenerife (EUR 41 million)
  • 1 in Gran Canaria (EUR 13.3 million)

The remaining 3 are in Madrid (EUR 5.03 million), Andalucia (EUR 6.95 milllion), and Melilla (EUR 6.08 million).

The decision for support seeks to facilitate the conduct of feasibility research to judge the potential of the completely different geothermal websites as a preliminary step to figuring out whether or not the websites could be developed, and the sources that will likely be wanted for his or her exploitation. The proposals had been chosen primarily based on a technical and financial standards, in addition to the socioeconomic affect of the potential initiatives.

The help will likely be granted on a non-refundable foundation and the IDAE could advance it to the beneficiaries to facilitate the financing of the initiatives. The backed initiatives should be accomplished by 30 June 2026 on the newest.
