Switerzland-based Lumartix has developed a steady-state photo voltaic simulator system for analysis labs. It claims a lightweight emitter lifetime of greater than 20,000 hours.
Lumartix, a Swiss firm specializing in plasma gentle engine know-how, has developed a photo voltaic simulator to carry out characterization, growing old and stabilization exams, with extra light-soaking and solar-simulation capabilities.
The Solixon A-22 simulator is designed for a variety of PV applied sciences, together with thin-film and perovskite photo voltaic cells.
The research-sized, steady-state system has a pattern illuminated space that measures 22 cm x 22 cm and a lightweight depth vary of 200 W/m2 to 1,100 W/m2. Under 200 W/m2, the system requires an elective filter. It has spectrum protection of 280 nanometers (nm) to three,000 nm and is configurable from Class A+ to Class AAA.
The producer claims a lightweight emitter lifetime of larger than 20,000 hours. It measures 350 mm x 350 mm and it weighs 45 kg.
“The Solixon A-22’s steady illumination function makes it particularly well-suited for testing skinny movie and third era photo voltaic cells,” Lumartix CEO Laurent Calame advised pv journal.
He stated that bigger variations of the Solixon photo voltaic simulators are already in use by PV trade teams, similar to PV producers Hanwha Qcells and First Photo voltaic, and TÜV, a German technical inspection supplier, together with universities and testing institutes.
The Solixon gear is predicated on the Lumartix plasma gentle engine, a substitute for typical Xenon arc lamp know-how, and purportedly requires decrease upkeep. It’s geared up with a radio frequency management system and electrode-free know-how.
“It has no additional elements or filters, mercury-free, and no spectral shift,” stated Calame.
The Solixon A-22 can be utilized with monocrystalline cells, multi-junction silicon photo voltaic cells, skinny movie, natural, perovskite, and dye-sensitized photo voltaic cells in a spread of related exams, similar to most energy dedication (MPP), measurement of temperature coefficient, low irradiance, gentle soaking, in addition to characterization and stabilization exams.
Software program to assist knowledge acquisition and distant entry is pre-installed. The gear is licensed to PV trade requirements, similar to IEC 60904-9:2020 ed. 3, ASTM E927-05, and JIS C 8912 requirements, in addition to related army and automotive trade requirements.
