MGE Seeks Extra Native Photo voltaic and Battery Storage to Serve Prospects

Madison Fuel and Electrical (MGE) is searching for approval from the Public Service Fee of Wisconsin (PSCW) to construct a 20 MW photo voltaic array and 40 MW BESS in Fitchburg, Wis.

Dubbed the Sunnyside Photo voltaic Power Middle, the mission will present domestically generated photo voltaic vitality to MGE’s distribution system.

“MGE continues on our path towards deep decarbonization to attain net-zero carbon electrical energy,” says Jeff Keebler, MGE chairman, president and CEO.

“Carbon is our goal, and our carbon discount targets are aligned with science. Underneath our commitments, by 2030, MGE expects to ship electrical energy with 80% fewer carbon emissions to each MGE electrical buyer. Equally, by 2050, we count on to ship net-zero carbon electrical energy to each MGE electrical buyer. We’re decarbonizing our grid cost-effectively for the advantage of all clients.”

EDF Renewables is the mission’s developer. If permitted, mission building might start subsequent yr.
