Ofgem is proposing adjustments to prepayment meter standing expenses and debt-related prices to handle issues of unfairness and heightened vulnerability for particular buyer teams.
The proposal includes levelising standing expenses for prepayment meters (PPM) and direct debit (DD) clients from April 2024, adopted by a second stage during which DD and customary credit score (SC) debt-related prices could be levelised.
The adjustments intention to scale back the monetary burden on susceptible clients, notably PPM and SC clients, who presently face greater payments.
Ofgem is looking for suggestions on the proposals till 2nd January 2024.
