Prysmian Group has efficiently commissioned the inter-array cable system for the Fécamp offshore wind farm, positioned within the English Channel in Normandy, some 24 km off the French coast.
The venture consists of 71 generators with a complete capability of practically 500 MW, producing electrical energy equal to the facility wants of over 770,000 individuals, says the corporate.
“This essential venture marks an additional vital milestone for the Group, being one of many first large-scale offshore wind farms positioned in France, during which the Group has full EPCI duty for the inter-array provide and set up contract,” says Prysmian Group’s Alberto Boffell.
”As a one-stop-shop service supplier, Prysmian was accountable for the design, manufacture, set up, burial, termination and testing of a complete of 118 km of 33 kV submarine cables with 630 mm sq. cross-sections and each aluminum and copper cores to attach the 71 wind generators with a capability of seven MW every to the offshore substation.”
Prysmian had secured this venture in 2020 with a contract awarded by EDF Renewables and its companions. Set up was carried out beneath Prysmian’s full and devoted venture administration.
