ReVision Vitality has held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of a 14,256-panel neighborhood photo voltaic farm in Hampden, Maine.
The Wishcamper Hampden facility was constructed on a 25-acre deserted gravel pit by a collaboration between Wishcamper Firms, the mission’s investor and proprietor, and ReVision Vitality, which serves as mission developer.
“As a result of Maine is among the most closely forested states within the nation, which means a lot of shady rooftops and locations the place photo voltaic isn’t viable, we’d like these large-scale, ground-mounted photo voltaic tasks to assist our communities and establishments transfer away from burning oil and fuel, ” says ReVision Vitality co-founder Phil Coupe.
“Each time we construct a clear power mission like this one, we maintain our greenbacks proper right here at house within the native financial system, creating good jobs, and giving us that power independence and resilience that we actually want.”
The positioning grew to become operational in December and can generate an estimated 8,690 MWh yearly.
Offtakers embody the Deer Island/Stonington College District and School of the Atlantic, Isle au Haut Energy Firm, Bangor Water District and the City of Blue Hill.
