Rovco Completes Survey for Cenos Floating Wind Farm


Rovco has accomplished its geo-environmental survey for the deliberate Cenos floating offshore wind farm, on behalf of Flotation Power and Vårgrønn.

Rovco’s work scope included the acquisition of geophysical and benthic data, offering detailed knowledge to tell environmental affect evaluation consents and the engineering processes from early front-end engineering and design research, says the corporate.

The survey space covers roughly 333 sq. km within the central North Sea and is situated 200 km off the coast of northeast Scotland.  

“The work was safely and efficiently accomplished by our newly established website characterization division, utilizing our multi-purpose, custom-reconfigured DP2 survey vessel, the Glomar Supporter,” says Rovco’s Craig Davis. 

“Rovco’s strategy to managing and executing the fast-track survey temporary for Cenos, successfully and inside the difficult time frames, has supplied us with the continuity and depth of knowledge we require to advance each our consent and our engineering plans,” provides Scott McLaughlan, Cenos challenge supervisor.

The Vårgrønn and Flotation Power three way partnership signed an exclusivity settlement with Crown Property Scotland for the realm earlier this month, after being awarded exclusivity earlier this 12 months as a part of Crown Property Scotland’s INTOG offshore leasing spherical.

On completion, the Cenos wind farm will present as much as 1.4 GW of renewable electrical energy to grease and gasoline platforms.
