Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) mentioned on Tuesday it has stopped making blocks and gear for 10 out of 15 Arctic LNG carriers contracted with Zvezda.
Samsung has been delivering blocks and gear for 5 of them to Zvezda, the Russian shipyard that’s assembling the carriers, after receiving South Korean authorities approval.
Samsung is nearing the tip of creating the blocks and gear for the 5 ships, a Samsung spokesperson mentioned on Tuesday.
For the remaining 10 ships, Samsung has stopped making the blocks and gear, however there was no cancellation of the contract but, the spokesperson mentioned.
