UK-based tanker firm Stolt-Nielsen Restricted (Oslo Børs: SNI) has introduced a serious improvement in its fleet enlargement plans with an order for six chrome steel parcel tankers.
The 38,000 dwt tankers had been ordered by the corporate’s subsidiary, Stolt Tankers B.V., at Wuhu Shipyard in China with deliveries between 2026 and 2028. The order consists of choices for a further six newbuildings.
The state-of-the-art tankers have been designed to prioritize gas effectivity, with fashionable engine design, hull optimization, energy-saving gadgets, and shore energy connection. Notably, the ships are additionally adaptable for future conversion to battery and methanol propulsion.
