TAQA Geothermal and EDF will probably be collaborating on the development of geothermal for energy technology and cooling functions within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

EDF Saudi Arabia and TAQA Geothermal Power Firm have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on geothermal power applied sciences together with energy technology, HVAC functions, and Compressed Air Power Storage in Saudi Arabia. The settlement was signed on the third PIF Non-public Sector Discussion board, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MoU was signed by Omar Aldaweesh, CEO of EDF Saudi Arabia, and Meshary Al-Ayed, CEO of TAQA Geothermal Power Firm, reinforcing the dedication of each firms to advancing modern and decarbonised power applied sciences within the Kingdom. Additionally in attendance had been Gudmundur Thoroddsson, Chief Expertise Officer of TAQA Geothermal and Chairman of Reykjavik Geothermal, TAQA Geothermal’s three way partnership companion.

This collaboration units the stage for pioneering geothermal power options in Saudi Arabia, paving the best way for cleaner and extra environment friendly energy and cooling applied sciences. By leveraging their mixed experience, TAQA Geothermal and EDF intention to unlock the complete potential of geothermal assets, reinforcing the Kingdom’s management in renewable power innovation.

TAQA Geothermal has been engaged on a geothermal pilot and analysis challenge on the King Abdullah College of Science and Expertise (KAUST), which concerned the drilling of a 400-meter depth properly.

“This partnership is a pure development of EDF’s longstanding dedication to Saudi Arabia’s power sector. Over the previous decade, we have now been actively contributing to the Kingdom’s power panorama by means of our experience in sustainable options, and this MoU additional strengthens our position in advancing modern applied sciences,” stated Omar Aldaweesh, CEO of EDF Saudi Arabia.
