Related British Ports (ABP) welcomes the choice by the Division of Power Safety and Web Zero to advance the Port Talbot venture to the first checklist section of the Floating Offshore Wind Manufacturing Funding Scheme (FLOWMIS).
“ABP is happy that the U.Ok. authorities is supporting the formidable plan to rework the port of Port Talbot into a significant hub for floating offshore wind and inexperienced power growth,” says Henrik L. Pedersen, CEO of ABP. “The FLOWMIS award, alongside vital ABP funding of greater than £500 million, will start to unlock a projected £1 billion of funding in Port Talbot and the encompassing space. This may develop a inexperienced financial hub supporting and creating almost 10,000 jobs in South Wales and throughout the broader U.Ok. provide chain.”
The proposed hub would see the port remodeled into a middle for the manufacturing, meeting and integration of floating offshore wind parts for initiatives within the Celtic Sea.
