Members From Municipalities, Tribes, and Group-Primarily based Organizations Will Convene for Six Months To Be taught From Every Different and Consultants About Agrivoltaics, Residential Power Effectivity Applications, and Electrifying Municipal Fleets
The U.S. Division of Power (DOE) at present introduced a brand new spherical of leaders from 45 entities that can collaborate on frequent clear power alternatives and challenges by means of the Clear Power to Communities (C2C) program’s peer-learning cohorts. These contributors—together with county and native governments, Tribes, community-based organizations, and utilities—will convene commonly from July to December 2024 to trade methods and greatest practices, study in a collaborative atmosphere from one another and DOE’s nationwide laboratory specialists, and workshop their pathways to agrivoltaics implementation, residential power effectivity packages, or municipal fleet electrification.
“C2C’s peer-learning cohorts facilitate new networks and collaborations between communities throughout the nation and allow them entry to high clear power specialists from DOE’s nationwide laboratories,” stated Jeff Marootian, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Power Effectivity and Renewable Power. “By collaborating and sharing profitable plans with their friends, these new contributors will acquire concepts, instruments, and confidence to speed up their very own clear power transitions. We’re excited for this new group to thrive on this program.”
“I’m particularly excited in regards to the geographic range of the chosen contributors on this cycle,” stated Lauren Reichelt, C2C peer-learning cohort program supervisor. “Practitioners from throughout the US acknowledge the worth that peer trade can carry to their clear power work. Our workforce appears to be like ahead to connecting this numerous set of entities round their frequent pursuits and creating alternatives for them to study from one another’s distinctive experiences.”
C2C’s peer-learning cohorts convene as much as 15 communities devoted to a single clear energy-related matter and connects them with academic assets, case research, evaluation and modeling instruments, templates advert, trainings, and facilitated collaboration to allow accelerated clear power progress. That is the fourth spherical of C2C’s peer-learning cohorts. Earlier cohorts have lined matters together with clear power financing; municipal constructing power effectivity and decarbonization; neighborhood engagement for power tasks; photo voltaic, storage and microgrids; and electrical car infrastructure planning.
