UK Energy Networks receives £6.2m for decarbonisation initiatives

UK Energy Networks has secured funding for 13 progressive initiatives via Ofgem‘s Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF), in collaboration with Innovate UK.

The funding, exceeding £6.2 million, will bolster efforts to decarbonise the UK’s warmth and transport sectors.

These initiatives, which embody initiatives like Undertaking Guidelight and Undertaking SHIELD, purpose to handle low adoption charges of time-of-use tariffs and digital applied sciences amongst low earnings and susceptible households.

Additionally they search to make the set up of low carbon applied sciences extra accessible and inexpensive for shoppers in susceptible circumstances.

The initiatives cowl a spread of areas, together with hydrogen electrolyser hub growth, decarbonisation of multi-occupancy buildings, exploring vehicle-to-grid capabilities in automotive parks and making low carbon heating inexpensive for susceptible clients.
