UPenn Celebrates Nice Cove I and II Turning into Operational

Photo voltaic manufacturing has begun on the Nice Cove I and II photo voltaic amenities in central Pennsylvania, unfold throughout Fulton and Franklin counties in central Pennsylvania, with a 220 MW capability and comprised of greater than 485,000 panels.

College of Pennsylvania will buy all electrical energy produced on the amenities, stemming from a PPA the college signed in 2020 with Group Vitality, since acquired by AES. Challenge building started in 2022, with pre-panel building occurring from April 2022 to Could 2023. Panel set up occurred from final Could to December, with substation interconnection testing in November.

“I couldn’t be prouder that we’ve made such speedy, milestone progress towards carbon neutrality, not just for Penn however for town of Philadelphia,” says UPenn’s J. Larry Jameson. “We’re taking over the best challenges of our time, and on the prime of that listing is local weather change and sustainability.”
