US Navy Accepts Supply Of Future USS Kingsville (LCS



The U.S. Navy accepted supply of the longer term USS Kingsville (LCS 36) at Austal USA’s shipyard in Cellular, Ala., March 1.

Kingsville is the 18th Independence-variant Littoral Fight Ship (LCS) constructed, and is the primary ship ever named after Kingsville, Texas.

The LCS class includes quick, optimally manned, mission-tailored floor combatants that may function in each near-shore and open-ocean waters to counter Twenty first-century coastal threats.

Kingsville efficiently accomplished Acceptance Trials on February 1 and can be commissioned later this summer time, and can be homeported in San Diego, California.
