Van Oord to work on offshore wind farms in Poland and Taiwan

Van Oord has been awarded two new offshore wind initiatives: Baltic Energy within the Baltic Sea and Larger Changhua 2b and 4 in Taiwan. The contracts have a mixed worth of greater than EUR 500 million. As soon as operational, the 2 offshore wind farms will ship renewable power to roughly 2.5 million households.

The Baltic Energy offshore wind farm is being developed by a three way partnership between ORLEN (Poland) and Northland Energy (Canada). The wind farm will likely be situated within the Polish Unique Financial Zone of the Baltic Sea, 23 kilometres from shore.
