Yemen’s Houthis Rebels Rain Missiles and Drones on Norwegian Tanker & French Frigate


Final Saturday, Yemen’s Houthi rebels introduced that the group would goal any ships heading to or from Israel, no matter their nationality, and warned all worldwide transport corporations towards coping with Israeli ports.

On Monday, the group attacked the MT Strinda, a Norwegian bio-diesel tanker passing by means of the Bab-el-Mandeb, the strait that connects the Gulf of Aden to the Pink Sea. A minimum of one missile struck the tanker, inflicting a hearth. No casualties had been reported within the assault.  

A Houthi spokesman mentioned the MT Strinda was delivering oil to Israel, however the ship’s homeowners mentioned it was headed to Italy with feedstock for biofuel.

French guided-missile frigate FS Languedoc shot down a drone whereas patrolling close by, Naval Information reported.

That is the third drone from Yemen that the French frigate has intercepted since Sunday. On December 9, the Languedoc shot down two drones that had been heading straight towards it, coming from the coast of Yemen.
